About the project:
CATS first premiered on the West End in London in 1981. With music by Andrew Lloyd Webber and lyrics adapted from T.S. Eliot's Old Possum’s Book of Practical Cats, the show quickly became a cultural phenomenon. Its Broadway debut in 1982 cemented its legacy, earning seven Tony Awards, including Best Musical, and holding the record for the longest-running musical for nearly two decades.
Songs like “Memory” have become iconic, resonating deeply across generations. This reimagined production honors the show’s rich history while offering a fresh perspective on its enduring themes of community, renewal, and acceptance.
