About the project: Play Synopsis: Lady Windermere suspects that her husband is having an affair with another woman and confronts him with it. Although he denies it, he invites the other woman, Mrs. Erlynne, to his wife’s birthday ball. Angered by her husband’s supposed unfaithfulness, Lady Windermere decides to leave her husband for Lord Darlington, who has recently confessed his love for her. After discovering what has transpired, Mrs. Erlynne attempts to persuade Lady Windermere to return to her husband and in the course of this, Mrs. Erlynne lets herself be discovered in a compromising position. It is then revealed that Mrs. Erlynne is Lady Windermere’s mother, who abandoned her family twenty years earlier. Mrs. Erlynne sacrifices her reputation to save her daughter’s marriage. Additional info: Headshot and Resume: Preferred but not required Prepare: Actors will do cold reads from the script. If they wish, they may also do a pre-prepared monologue. Headshots and resumes are preferred but not required. Also, auditioners are encouraged to use a British accent during their audition as that will be required for the production. Rehearsals Begin: February 24th. The rehearsal schedule is M-Th, 4:00-6:30 pm (subject to change based on actor availability). Performance Times: April 4, 5, 11, 12 @ 7:00 pm and 6, 13 @ 2:00 pm Callbacks: February 21, 6:00-8:00 pm in the Studio Theatre. Callbacks will be cold reads from the script.
