Casting Teenagers for "You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown"
Theater is holding auditions for You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised)! seeking dynamic performers (16+) who can bring strong character choices, comedic timing, and vocal ability to the stage. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Based on the comic strip “Peanuts” by Charles M. Schulz, You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown (Revised) follows a day in the life of Charlie Brown and his friends, including the bossy Lucy, the philosophical Linus, the music-loving Schroeder, the ever-spirited Sally, and of course, Snoopy, the imaginative beagle. This updated version of the beloved high-energy and heartwarming musical includes new songs like “My New Philosophy” and “Beethoven Day”. Additional info: Audition Format Vocal Audition (Individual, 10-minute slots) • No accompanist provided—please bring a backing track you have rehearsed with. • A Bluetooth speaker will be available. Dance Audition (Group Session) • A short dance piece will be taught, and then performed in small groups. • Wear comfortable clothing and shoes for movement. Cold Reading (Script Sides Provided) • Performers will be asked to read selected scenes from the script. Rehearsals: March 10 – April 20 • Typically 3–4 days per week, 3–4 hours per rehearsal. • A final schedule will be created after casting and company conflicts are noted.
