About the project: This captivating show tells the inspiring story of a brilliant young girl with extraordinary powers, courage, and imagination. It's a high-energy musical filled with catchy songs, spectacular dance numbers, and unforgettable characters, including Matilda, Miss Honey, and the terrifying Miss Trunchbull. Rate: Roles unpaid. Additional info: Showcase your talent in an empowering, joyful story about courage and resilience. Sing and dance in a musical with award-winning songs by Tim Minchin. Callbacks will be held Wednesday, March 5th at Kensington Town Hall at 7 pm. Please come prepared to: Perform 16 bars of an upbeat Broadway-style song that shows your range, stage presence, and acting ability. Bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. (Acapella auditions will not be considered.) Learn and then perform a short dance routine. Wear clothes you can move in. Sneakers or dance shoes (jazz, character, etc.) are a must. Provide a complete list of all possible schedule conflicts through June 7th. Rehearsals will be held 3 times per week, mostly Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, beginning March 24. A tentative schedule of rehearsals will be provided at auditions.
