About the project: The 4th wall is shattered immediately by the Man In the Chair. He is a late 30s, single, gay man who staves off loneliness with musical theatre. (Just like me!) He invites the audience to listen to one of his favorite musicals, The Drowsy Chaperone. When the music starts, a colorful cast of deliciously cliché characters fill the stage, bringing the musical to life in his apartment. The plot is stupid, but this musical couldn’t be smarter, as it lampoons classic musicals in a series of show-stopping dances and side-splitting scenes. Additional info: Rehearsals start June 23.
