Seeking Kids for "Jack and Phil: Slayers of Giants"
Students in grades 6-12 are encouraged to audition for "Jack and Phil: Slayers of Giants" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Jack and Phil: Slayers of Giants, Inc. is a modern retelling of the classic fairy tale “Jack and the Beanstalk” full of whimsy, wit, and a timely message about friendship and self-confidence. The story focuses on the new character Phil, Jack’s best and only friend. To save Jack’s house from being sold, the two friends purchase “magical beans” that promise fame and fortune to anyone who possesses them. The next morning, a giant beanstalk suddenly grows right between Jack and Phil’s houses. As Phil rescues Jack time and again-while Jack takes the credit for the town’s newfound prosperity-tensions emerge between the two best friends. What would you give up for “fame and fortune?” Additional info: All experience levels are welcome to audition! Rehearsal period: February 24 (first meeting) – April 2 NOTE: Directors will be creating two casts for this show. They will rehearse together and then share tour performances throughout the spring. Students participating in QCT On the Road will need permission to miss school on performance days; QCT can provide a letter of support to your student’s school administration.
