Singing Audition for "Shrek the Musical"

Kids age 10-18 years old are invited to audition for "Shrek the Musical". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "Once upon a time, there was a little ogre named Shrek...." And thus begins the tale of an unlikely hero who finds himself on a life-changing journey alongside a wisecracking Donkey and a feisty princess who resists her rescue. Throw in a short-tempered bad guy, a cookie with an attitude, and over a dozen other fairy-tale misfits, and you've got the kind of mess that calls for a real hero. Luckily, there's one on hand... and his name is Shrek. Additional info: For the audition, actors should be prepared to: 1. Introduce themselves, giving us their age, grade, school, and an unusual fact about themselves. They should be able to answer easy questions and have a conversation with the director. 2. Perform a short acapella song (30 seconds) that shows off vocal range and personality. Directors do not want a song from the show, but maybe a song with a similar style. 3. Be able to match pitch. Directors will play a note and they need to be able to sing the same note.
