Dance Opportunities for Kids in "Footloose" Musical
Talent ages 13-18 years old are encouraged to try out for "Footloose" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Please prepare an approximately one-minute cut of a song that shows off your voice. Songs from the show or in the style of the show are encouraged. Please bring an accompaniment track on your phone or other device. Wear clothes and shoes you can dance in. Everyone will dance, you may also be asked to read from a script. (Lead): Tenor. Teenager from Chicago. Fun quick witted and energetic, emotional, rebellious, likeable; emotes his pain through quirky sarcasm and dance; strong dancer; athletic skills a plus.
(Lead): Baritone. The powerful, traditional local church leader; strict, stern, and solemn, still struggling with the death of his son. Must be a strong singer –has solo
(Lead): Mezzo-Pop. Shaw and Vi’s daughter. Smart, a bit of the bad girl with an edge, sweet, she’s rebelling against her father’s stance, but she’s more mischievous than negative; role requires strong, solid voice. Must be a confident singer/dance
(Supporting): Soprano. Reverend Moore’s loving, supportive, resilient wife. Has a duet with Ethel – mature, vocal sound desired.
(Supporting): Soprano/pop voice. Ariel’s friend; a bit scatterbrained, sweet, fun, knows everything about everything; role requires strong voice, comedic timing and dance. Sings 3 part harmony with several solo lines
(Supporting):Tenor. A “country bumpkin” with a short temper but a warm heart and a big smile; comedic timing and dance a must. He “learns” to dance.
(Supporting): Soprano. Ren’s mother; had a tough go, just trying to make it through the relocation from Chicago…would do anything for her son. Has a duet with Vi – mature vocal sound desired
(Supporting): Tenor. The local bad boy and Ariel’s boyfriend. Doesn’t like Ren. Sings fairly well; sings with Ariel with male back up
(Supporting): Mezzo/Alto. Ariel’sfriend; the smart one of the group; role requires a strong singer, comedic timing, and dance. Sings 3 part harmony with several solo lines
(Supporting): Mezzo. Ariel’s friend; comedic timing, and dance required. Sings 3 part harmony with several solo lines
(featured) – Owner of the Burger Blast. the mature, comedic role, the accent would be fun. Must be able to roller skate
(featured) Cowboy hat, boots and an attitude. Thinks of himself as the only “real man” in the room. Sings Act Two Opening Song
