Teen Audition in the Musical "Ride the Cyclone"

About the musical: In a dilapidated warehouse at an abandoned amusement park, an aging mechanical fortune-teller called The Amazing Karnak comes to life, and brings with him a ghostly choir of five deceased high-schoolers – all members of the Saint Cassian Chamber Choir, who were tragically killed on the park’s Cyclone roller coaster. Now, Karnak has the power to return one of these youths to life – but they must all decide among themselves who is the most worthy of a second chance to “ride the cyclone” that is life. This fanciful one-act musical features a diverse cast of uniquely Canadian characters and has charmed audiences across North America. With songs in vocal styles ranging from ballads to rap, Ride The Cyclone has been called ‘probably the most uproarious and outrageous piece of musical theatre Canada has ever produced.’ Rate: These are volunteer positions. Additional information: Rehearsals for the show will start the week of March 2 and will be held in Orrawa. Rehearsals will be held on Monday, Thursday, and Friday evenings from 7-10pm. An additional rehearsal on Saturdays may be added to the rehearsal schedule closer to the show, as needed. Preparation: - Vocal Audition: Prepare 32 bars (1-2 minutes) of a musical theatre song that showcases your vocal abilities and aligns with the style of the show. Please bring sheet music for our accompanist. - Acting Audition: Be ready for a cold read of a short scene provided at the audition. Arrive 15 minutes early to review the material. Memorization is not required. - Dance/Movement: A movement segment will be part of the audition. Wear appropriate attire for dancing, as changing facilities may not be available.
