"Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" Seeks Kids
Audition for young performers for "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: All auditions include a vocal and dance audition. All those auditioning should prepare, in advance, a vocal piece to sing, not longer than one minute in length. Please provide your own music, karaoke version, by means of a bluetooth-enabled device, such as a smart phone. This prepared piece cannot be a piece from Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat. Your selection should highlight your vocal strength as it pertains to the role(s) for which you are auditioning. Those auditioning for Pharaoh should prepare an Elvis impersonation vocal piece in addition to their other prepared vocal piece. Those auditioning are asked to wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow for movement for the dance portion of the audition. Those auditioning for the “Apache Dancer” will be taught a different dance audition as a featured dancer. Some that are auditioning may also be asked to perform music selections from the show as part of their audition. Not being asked to do these things as part of your audition does not necessarily indicate that you will not be cast. All should be prepared to stay for the entire session time, but only need to come to one audition session. Please come to the audition session for the character for which you are most interested. Some of those auditioning may be asked to return for a callback audition in the afternoon of Sunday, February 9, 2025. Not receiving a callback audition does not necessarily mean you will not be cast. Callback auditions for principal roles will be held, as needed, on Sunday, February 9, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm. Soprano with a strong rock singing voice (high belt to E full range Mezzo) who is strong on comedy and moves well. The guide through the story. Tenor vocalist if played by a male performer.
Tenor. The eleventh son of Jacob. Obviously his father's favorite, Joseph, early on, shows a talent for interpreting dreams and telling the future. This gets him into trouble with his brothers when he predicts his future will include ruling over the other eleven. In the end, he has risen to a great position of power, but he still forgives his brothers and brings his family to Egypt to partake of the bounty he has accumulated there.
A powerful and rich Egyptian. Jacob works in his household. A Noel Coward type character. Baritone. (May double as JACOB).
Alto/Mezzo. Beautiful and scheming. (Can be a cameo or may double as a WIFE.)
Tenor/Baritone, played by a BROTHER. Character role with a look that contrasts with the BAKER.
