About the project: This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum know as “the relationship.” Through sketches and songs, Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, “Say, what are you doing Saturday night?” Additional info: Show: Apr. 24-26 & May 1-3 @7pm and Apr. 27 & May 4 @2pm Please memorize/prepare one of following: Nursery rhyme, limerick, short poem, or a soliloquy of 30-45 seconds. A song and bring sheet music. The directors will audition people individually. As this show is a collection of short vignettes, there is the possibility of casting up to 36 adults of varying ages. It is possible for people to do two or more vignettes depending on how many people audition. The rehearsal schedule will attempt to be very “user” friendly. The director would like to utilize as many weekends as possible for blocking and rehearsing the vignettes. Each scene in the revue introduces new characters who are not seen again, and therefore it can be cast with virtually as many actors as desired, a number of roles could change.
