Casting Call for Boys and Girls for "Grease" Musical
All 9th-12th grade students in RUSD are eligible to audition for "Grease" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: GREASE is such a fun, classic, and upbeat show that will give our students a challenge (in the best way) whether you are onstage or offstage. Hope you bring energy, excitement, and creativity to your audition, and remember, even if you have never auditioned for a show before, there is no time like the present. Additional info: Vocal Workshop: Wednesday, January 15th - 3-4 pm. What will the Auditions consist of? ARRIVAL - If possible arrive with your completed forms about 15 minutes prior to your audition time slot. When you arrive, you will sign in with our Stage Manager and be given an audition form to complete. At the start of each time slot hour, the time slot group will be brought into the theater. Late comers will not be accepted. VOCALS - You will be chosen at random to sing the piece from the show or the piece you have prepared independently with prior approval. Pick a song that you feel shows your range and fits best with the character you are most interested in. A pianist will accompany your audition - no CDs or a cappella accepted. IN addition, the vocal director may check for pitch and vocal range. ACTING - You will be given some sides (short scene selections) from the show. You will have a brief amount of time to go over the dialogue and then you will be paired/grouped up in the audition to read the scenes. DANCE - You will be taught a short dance combination from a number from the show. Wear comfortable shoes and clothes to dance in. Bring a list of all conflicts to the audition. Rehearsals will generally be a mix of the following: MONDAY - FRIDAY 3:15-5:30p.m, 4-7pm or 6-9 p.m. SATURDAYS 8-2 p.m. January 23rd 2025 - CALLBACKS (3-6 pm) January 27th, 2025 - Tentative First Rehearsal April 4th - April 12th 2025 - PERFORMANCES Please download the attachment for audition details and material.
