Kid Audition For Theatre Play "Hello, Dolly!"
Auditions for "Hello, Dolly!" are open to ages 9-18. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: WHAT TO EXPECT AT AUDITIONS? Arrive at least 15 minutes early to register The audition will begin with all students and parents gathering for a brief meeting. Students 15 and over do not need to have an adult present Following the meeting, all those auditioning will learn the dance Once the dance is learned students will come into the audition room 10 at a time. Each one will sing their prepared music then the group will do the dance they learned. Once the group is finished, they are released. Please be prepared, it communicates a lot about your desire to be in the show. Bring in sheet music for your song (not just the notes, but actual accompaniment for piano) Sheet music should be in a binder with a clearly marked stop and start point of your prepared section. You do not have to start at the beginning of the song. Sing the part that shows of your voice the best. No recorded music or a capella singing Teams are looking for strong voices with personality. It is as important to act your song as it is to sing it well. Project and give it energy and character. The best song selection would be similar in style for the show, however it is also important to sing something you are comfortable with. Pop songs are not a good choice. Songs from current very popular musicals (especially rock musicals) are usually not great audition songs. See the document attached for details. If interested, please apply.
