About the project: "Fences" Welcome to 1950s Pittsburgh, where Troy Maxson—a garbage collector with a past as a star in the Negro Leagues—is trying to hold his family together while wrestling with the pain of dreams deferred by systemic racism. His frustrations spill over, shaping his relationships with his wife, children, and closest friend. As Troy builds a physical fence around his home, he also constructs emotional barriers that threaten to push away those who love him most. This Pulitzer Prize-winning play dives deep into themes of love, duty, family, and the long shadow of racial inequity, offering a raw and honest look at one man’s battle with his past and his hope for the future. "The Colored Museum" The Colored Museum is a groundbreaking and satirical play that redefines the Black American experience. Through 11 powerful vignettes, it challenges cultural stereotypes, historical narratives, and societal norms with wit, humor, and poignant insight. Each “exhibit” in this theatrical museum offers a glimpse into the complexities of Black identity, heritage, and resilience, holding a mirror to both the struggles and triumphs of Black life in America.
