Casting Call for Youths for "Shrek" the Musical
"Shrek" the musical needs a youth cast. Please see the breakdown below. Rate: Non paid. Additional info: Performers are asked to prepare at least a one-minute upbeat Broadway song in the style of the main character you wish to audition for. Character sides will be available the day of auditions. Currently there are no callbacks planned but performers could be asked to attend an additional in person CB or submit additional material online. There are no non-singing roles in this show. Everyone cast is expected to sing and dance in the group numbers. If you are a tap dancer, you may prepare an optional routine up to 1-minute. No accompanist will be provided, however, there will be a speaker w/ Aux chord hookup, a CD player & blue tooth. You may also sing with your handheld device (only instrumental please, no vocals) or a capella. The show performs May 17-19, 2025 & rehearsals could potentially occur on Sunday afternoons, Thursday or Friday evenings. Our story's title character. A big, green, terrifying ogre who lives alone on a swamp. He embarks on a journey to rid his land of fairytale creatures and, along the way, falls in love with Fiona. The beautiful princess of Far Far Away, she transforms into an ogre every night when the sun sets. Rescued by Shrek and eventually falls in love with him. Quirky, blunt, and multitalented, she is not an ordinary princess. Vocal range top: G5 Vocal range bottom: F3
