Casting Teen Performers for "Ziggy Was Here" Play
Performers in grades 7-12 are invited to audition for "Ziggy Was Here" Play. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: The story follows a student sitting now at the end of detention. This student, Ziggy, has discovered something beyond all of his hippie surfer attitude towards life, the joy of sitting and doing nothing. This spark of boredom encourages other lost or curious students to join in and creates an uproar with a few teachers, including Mr. Hoopla. The philosophy of Ziggy is found in some of the small insignificant and strange moments of these other characters and as the noise dies down and all that’s left is Ziggy and Mr. Hoopla, they both uncover the mystery of what lies beyond brick windows. Additional info: Practices will be 2-3 times a week starting January 19th from 6:30-8:00 pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Sundays with a mix of Zoom and in-person rehearsals. Smart witted and teacher‘s pet. She‘s level-headed and one of the few sensible people in the class, struggling to break up with Clifford, her soon ex-boyfriend.
The secondary teacher to enter detention with even more frustration and rule in their fist. Their consistent effort to get the kids out is shadowed by Ziggy himself.
