Casting Kids for "The Sword in the Stone" Play

Audition for "The Sword in the Stone" Play. There are at least seven available roles, including excellent roles for both boys and girls. The minimum age to audition is 8 years old, and the maximum age is 18. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Auditionees should prepare a SHORT (one-minute) monologue from a play or novel. The monologue should express emotional range and a theatrical level of volume and expression. The play’s genre is adventure. Choose an appropriate monologue, preferably from a published play. Auditionees may select a cutting from a published book. No songs or poems. Please, no monologues from films or television shows. Monologues will be evaluated on volume, clearness of diction, and depth of emotional expression. The ability of physical transformation is an advantage. Memorization is required. Auditionees should bring their calendars. All actors will be asked to list all conflicts with the rehearsal schedule. The director will make every attempt to work around conflicts, whenever possible. Rehearsals will begin on or around February 9, 2025, continuing through Thursday, April 3, 2025. Rehearsals are heldon Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Actors should expect to attend most, but not all, rehearsals; conflicts may be listed at the audition. Orientation/First rehearsal on Sunday, February 9 is mandatory for first-time participants. Tech rehearsals on March 27, 30, 31, April 2, 3 are mandatory Actors must also be available for all 15 regular performances: Friday, April 4 through Saturday, April 19, and Thursdays through Sundays. The show WILL NOT run on Sunday, April 20 (Easter). Please note that there are two morning matinees scheduled for Wednesday, April 9 between 8 a.m. and 12 p.m. If interested, please apply.
