Seeking young talent for "The Prince of Egypt." Please find the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: A tale of two brothers that find themselves suddenly divided by a secret past. Both face a destiny that will change history forever. This production will feature music and lyrics by Grammy and Oscar award winning composer, Stephen Schwartz, including one of his Academy Award-winning songs. This epic of biblical proportions teaches among other themes that when we strip away the circumstances of our birth and upbringing, we are all the same as members of the human race. Additional info: January 20th 11:59pm Voice auditions are due. Please provide an audio only recording of your singing. If you would like to be considered for lead roles, please also include an audio recording of a monologue. For ensemble, you are invited to include a video dance reel. All audio / video recordings should be 30-60 seconds in length and submitted via the form below. Callbacks will be issued with audition material on January 21st. January 23rd 5:30pm - 8:30pm In-person voice and dance callbacks will be conducted with casting directors behind a partition. Dance callbacks will also be held this evening. Rich alto voice. Regal, wise, deeply loving. Over the course of the show she changes from a vibrant, clever, even playful woman to a broken creature devastated by the loss of her son.

Strong rich belt, high alto. R’s wife and his Queen. Imperious and haughty, a descendent of an ancient royal family, she is keenly aware of her position and her importance to the dynasty. She is supremely self-confident and looks down upon R as a member of an upstart family. At the end, her heart is broken by the death of her son and she reveals her humanity and love for R.

Must have a thrilling high belt, but also a well-developed and beautiful mix; must also dance well. A princess, fiery and rebellious. She is full of spirit and strength, and wants nothing more than for her people to be free. Deeply committed to her family, and eventually her love for M. (Shares a kiss with M)

Strong rich belt. Birth sister to M. Devout, unswerving, simple-hearted optimistic. A prophetess. She believes in God and in M as the Deliverer and never wavers in her faith in both.

T’s younger sister. Feisty and willing to fight when threatened. Good-humored, thinks her older sister is a bit of a head case. Happily welcomes M into their tribe.

High tenor (up to Bb) with a thrilling voice and a large range. Playful, but with a soulful core. He begins the show as a devil-may-care young man, a bit of a clown and playboy, secure in his privileged identity. But after his devastating discovery that he was born a slave, he grows into a strong and compassionate leader. (Shares a kiss with T)

A strong tenor (sings up to G#), but with a well-developed lower range. A prince, heir to the throne. He love this brother, but is also quite competitive with him. His father expects a great deal from him and he is wracked by self-doubt. Through trials of great pain over the course of the show, he ultimately becomes a great leader.

Tenor or high baritone. M birth brother. Intellectual, sardonic, skeptical, funny. Reached an accommodation with his life as a slave; makes a joke of everything to diminish the pain. His skepticism of M is borne out when the slaves labor is doubled, but when finally won over, he becomes a most loyal follower.
