Teen Performers Needed for Theatre Audition "Mystic Pizza"
Calling all teen performers for auditions for the play "Mystic Pizza." Please find the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: “A charming, light-hearted story... and a string of 1980s tunes that will have you reminiscing about big hair, neon colors and shoulder pads.” – Broadway World. Mystic Pizza is a new musical based on the 1988 rom-com from MGM and screenwriter Amy Holden Jones. Adapted by Sandy Rustin, with arrangements and orchestrations by Carmel Dean, choreographed by Connor Gallagher, and directed by Casey Hushion, Mystic Pizza tells the story of three working-class girls who navigate the complexities of life, love, and family in a small-town pizza joint. The infectious score features megahits of the 80s and 90s, from "Girls Just Want To Have Fun" to "Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" and songs originally recorded by Melissa Etheridge, Cyndi Lauper, John Cougar Mellencamp, Debbie Gibson, Wilson Phillips, The Bangles, Belinda Carlisle, Rick Astley, Bryan Adams, among many others. Additional info: Callbacks: Feb 19 Rehearsals: Feb 24- May 1, 2025 Show Dates: May 2-4, 9-11 Registration will begin at 6pm. Auditions will begin at 6:30pm. There are many roles available, each requiring different levels of singing and dancing ability. This show is first and foremost a musical and requires a certain amount of vocals to carry the music effectively. The directors will need strong singers in all roles that require singing, especially the ensemble. Anyone cast will be asked to dance and sing to add to the overall performance.
