Child Auditions for Musical Production "Beetlejuice Jr."
Students in 4th-12th Grade are invited to join the cast of "Beetlejuice Jr." Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Auditions Procedure: Each child auditioning will be registered for one 30-minute time slot along with 5-7 other actors. If you're not sure what part to audition for, audition with the ensemble song. Everyone will be considered for every part. Acting: Monologues: Anyone auditioning for a speaking role should prepare an age-appropriate monologue of your choice from a published play or musical, not to exceed two (2) minutes. Your monologue should evoke/be similar to the character you're auditioning for. Memorization is preferred but you can read off a paper if needed. If you're auditioning for an Ensemble part you do not need to prepare a monologue. Dancing: You MIGHT be asked to perform some simple choreography so directors can see how your movement is on the stage. Please wear comfortable clothing with soft-soled shoes or sneakers so you can move easily. Do not wear flip-flops, boots, crocs, or heels. Singing: Everyone will be asked to sing a song from the show. Please look at the attachment to determine what song you need to prepare. Callbacks If the Director needs to see more or something different than what they saw in the auditions to make a casting decision, they will hold Callbacks. Not everyone who auditions will need to be called back. Don't be worried if you didn't get a callback, that just means they saw enough in your audition and already know what part you'll play! If the Director wants to call you back, the Producer will email you by the end of the day on the 14th asking you to come in on the 15th and providing more information. If interested, please apply.
