10 roles
Vocal Range: Tenor (A2 to G4) A mischievous, wildly energetic ghost with a flair for chaos and dark humor. Beetlejuice serves as the narrator and instigator of the story, breaking the fourth wall and interacting with the audience. He’s wacky, unpredictable, and thrives on attention. Despite his deviousness, there’s a hint of vulnerability beneath the surface. Requires a charismatic performer with strong comedic timing and a magnetic stage presence.
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano/Belter (A3 to F5) A goth teenager with a sharp wit and a love for the macabre. Lydia is deeply grieving her mother’s death and feels misunderstood by her father and stepmother. She’s intelligent, independent, and determined to connect with the afterlife. Needs a performer who can balance emotional depth with humor and sarcasm.
Vocal Range: Tenor (B2 to G4) A sweet, nerdy, and slightly awkward husband who loves his wife, Barbara, dearly. Adam struggles with confidence and takes a cautious approach to life (and death). He provides a charming counterbalance to Beetlejuice’s chaos. Requires a performer with warmth and solid comedic skills.
Vocal Range: Soprano (G3 to D5) Adam’s devoted and optimistic wife. Barbara is gentle, maternal, and always sees the best in others, even in bizarre situations. Her kindness and naivety often lead to comedic moments. Needs an actor with great chemistry with Adam and a knack for lighthearted comedy.
Vocal Range: Baritone (A2 to G4) Lydia’s uptight and work-focused father who struggles to connect with his daughter. Charles is determined to start a new life with his second wife and escape the chaos of the city. Needs a performer who can balance sternness with moments of genuine care.
Vocal Range: Mezzo-Soprano (A3 to E5) Charles’ eccentric and self-absorbed new wife, who moonlights as a life coach. Delia is quirky, high-energy, and full of strange philosophies. She often provides comic relief but has a caring side. Requires a performer with great comedic timing and physical comedy skills.
A sleazy and opportunistic businessperson who takes an interest in the paranormal for personal gain. Maxie is bold, loud, and over-the-top. Great for a character actor who can play a fun, exaggerated villain.
A no-nonsense caseworker for the recently deceased. Juno is sharp-tongued, sarcastic, and authoritative. Needs an actor who can deliver dry humor and command attention
