Teen Audition For Singing in "HAIRSPRAY"

Singing auditions for teens for "Hairspray." Please see the details below. About the project: The 1950s are out, and change is in the air! Hairspray, the winner of eight Tony Awards, including Best Musical, is a family-friendly musical, piled bouffant-high with laughter, romance, and deliriously tuneful songs. “It's 1962 in Baltimore, and the lovable plus-size teen, Tracy Turnblad, has only one desire – to dance on the popular "Corny Collins Show." When her dream comes true, Tracy is transformed from a social outcast to a sudden star. She must use her newfound power to dethrone the reigning Teen Queen, win the affections of heartthrob, Link Larkin, and integrate a TV network... all without denting her 'do! Additional info: A full schedule will be given once we have all the conflict calendars completed for all actors. Rehearsals begin on Monday, January 20th with a full introduction, and will go until tech week (April 1st-2nd) 1. Please prepare 32 bars (or one minute) of a musical theatre solo matching the style of Hairspray. The song cannot be from Hairspray the Musical. Tracks are allowed. No Acappella! 2. Please prepare a 30-60 second monologue either from matching the style. 3. Music and monologue does not have to be memorized, but it helps a lot! Please see the attachment for details.
