Casting Call for Boys and Girls for "The Velveteen Rabbit"

Kids ages 10-14 years old are encouraged to audition for "The Velveteen Rabbit" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: "The Velveteen Rabbit" is about the power of love and its ability to transform us. As we follow the flourishing friendship of a child and their favorite toy, we witness their many adventures as they begin to discover what it means to be “Real.” Using found-object puppetry and movement-based storytelling, this production echoes the transformative power of a child’s imagination and invites us to wonder about the impact that love has had on us. Additional info: This is a great opportunity for young actors to be a part of an all-youth cast, perform in various locations for younger children, and participate in the creation of the production itself. Directors are looking for great storytellers who are able to project, are comfortable with creative movement, and can engage with an audience. Participants will assist with creating props, scenic elements, and costumes. Participants will also create and lead post-show workshops. WHAT to EXPECT / PREPARE: 1)Be prepared to move! Wear comfortable clothing. 2) Be prepared to use your body, voice, and imagination! 3) Be prepared to improvise and work in collaboration with others! Rehearsals: January 19 - March 2, 2025 (Wednesdays & Thursdays from 5:45-7:45 pm and Sundays from 10:15 am-12:45 pm) and Tuesday, March 4 - Friday, March 7, 2025 (every night from 5:45-7:45 pm). Touring Dates: Monday, March 10 - Friday, March 14 AND Monday, March 17 - Wednesday, March 20 (We will tour 5-7 out of these nine days).
