"My Fair Lady" Teen Audition for The Theater
Teen auditions for the theater production "My Fair Lady." Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: In this beloved musical, pompous phonetics professor Henry Higgins is so sure of his abilities that he accepts a wager to transform a Cockney working-class girl into someone who can pass for a cultured member of high society. His subject is the lovely Eliza Doolittle, who agrees to speech lessons to improve her job prospects. Despite his cynical nature and difficulty understanding women, Higgins grows attached to her. Additional info: Please prepare 16-20 bars of a song (approx. a minute of music). Please bring sheet music, an accompanist will be provided. Because of the importance of dialects in this show, those auditioning for any speaking role will be asked to use a Cockney and a proper English accent during callbacks. Dance auditions will take place on Monday and Tuesday. Please sign up for a 30-minute dance audition slot as well as a 10-minute vocal audition slot.
