"The Old Man and The Old Moon" Teen Audition for the Theater

About the project: The Old Man and the Old Moon is a “play with music” written by PigPen Theatre Company, the team that created Water for Elephants on Broadway. The play follows the Old Man, who is in charge of filling the Moon with light. The Old Man has kept his post as the sole caretaker of the Moon for as long as he (or his wife, the Old Woman) can remember. When she is drawn away by a mysterious melody sparking memories of their shared past, the Old Man must decide between duty (and routine) and love (and adventure). Luckily, he chooses the latter, and what follows is an imaginative sea-faring epic, encompassing apocalyptic storms, civil wars, leviathans of the deep, and cantankerous ghosts, as well as the fiercest obstacle of all: change. The music, the puppets, the sound effects, the very world itself is created by an Ensemble of 7 instrument playing Actors. Rate: Local actors ages 16+. (No AEA contracts are available.) Additional info: CALLBACKS: Saturday Jan 18th from 5pm-8pm Sunday Jan 19th from 11am-2pm (All callbacks materials will provided in advance.) PERFORMANCES: March 28, 2025 through April 13, 2025. Please prepare 32 bars of an a capella song that best highlights your singing voice. The directors also want an instrument demonstartion that highlights your proficiency.
