Seeking Young Performers for a Fringe Show
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE CONSIDERED. Looking for younger actors between the ages of 9-13 for an upcoming original Fringe show. This is a non-union production with box office profits being split evenly among the cast and crew. Please, see the details below. About the show: A down-and-out math teacher is tasked with putting together a Christmas concert with a small group of fifth graders, despite not knowing what he's doing. Due to his lack of experience and a meddling school administration, the show goes horribly, but his love for teaching is rekindled as he connects with and learns from the students. This original script is a celebration of classic elementary school winter concerts. Additional information: Please, see the attachment. If you're interested, please apply.
2 roles
The middle child in a family with 5 kids, Mary often seems to be the forgotten one of the five. She is naturally shy and anxious when around new people and in unfamiliar situations, but will let people in with enough time and patience. While having about as much stage time as the other child roles, the role of Mary is comparatively light in dialogue. Actors auditioning for this role must therefore have good physicality to express who the character is and what she's feeling without words.
Sam is the only fourth grader and thus, the youngest of the child characters. Even if one wasn't aware of this fact, the average observer would likely guess that she's the youngest based on her behaviour compared to the other kids. While Sam often has her head in the clouds and is usually a step behind everyone else in a given conversation, she always means well and tries her best. Actors auditioning for this role must have high energy to capture the character's peppiness and sense of fun.
