Seeking Teen Talent for Short Film "Rock, Paper, Destiny"
Actors aged 14 and up are invited to the short film, "Rock, Paper, Destiny". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: In" Rock, Paper, Destiny," a shy high school water girl discovers her hidden talent for Rock Paper Scissors and, with the help of an eccentric mentor, must overcome self-doubt and humiliation to lead her underdog team to victory against an undefeated champion, saving her school’s after-school programs in the process. Project Constellation is designed to be an experiential learning opportunity for students interested in filmmaking. Rate: Actors in leading roles will be paid. All supporting roles are unpaid. Additional info: This film is expected to shoot over 4 days between February 17-23, final dates TBD. Actors in leading roles will require multiple days of shooting. Leading role. A sincere, self-effacing high school student who serves as the watergirl for West Side High School’s Rock Paper Scissors team. Though she feels invisible and doubts her abilities, she is determined, resourceful, and possesses hidden talents that she gradually discovers throughout her journey. Zelda is courageous and kind but must overcome her fear of humiliation to reach her full potential.
Leading role. The undefeated, charismatic, and cocky champion from Eastern High School. Having been held back multiple years, Champ is a larger-than-life figure who is adored and feared by his peers. He exudes arrogance and uses mind games to intimidate his opponents, but his confidence masks a deep fear of losing his status.
Supporting role. The top player from West Side High School, who injures himself in an exhibition game, leaving the team desperate for a replacement. He’s a determined competitor whose injury serves as the catalyst for Zelda stepping up.
Supporting role. Champ’s loyal, troublemaking buddy who helps him torment Zelda. He’s a classic henchman type, often echoing Champ’s sentiments and adding to the bullying atmosphere.
Supporting role. A timid freshman at Eastern High School who idolizes Champ and is in awe of his supposed generosity in staying at the school to maintain his championship status.
Supporting role. The enthusiastic and dramatic announcer for the championship match. They bring energy and flair to the event, hyping up the crowd and introducing the competitors with flair.
Supporting role. A West Side High School student who struggles with hand cramps while training for Rock Paper Scissors. Zelda assists him, showing her helpful and caring nature.
Supporting role. An athlete from West Side High School who trains in the rundown weight room and interacts with Zelda, highlighting her role as a supportive but often overlooked member of the team.
Supporting role. The goofy, plush mascot of West Side High School. Fisty is a giant fist with googly eyes and a smile, adding humor and spirit to the school events and competitions. Costumed role, mascot experience or cheerleading, dance, or gymnastics experience preferred.
Supporting roles. These characters include student fans and athletes from both West Side and Eastern High Schools who create the vibrant atmosphere of the competition scenes, cheering for their respective teams and adding to the stakes of Zelda’s journey.
