Seeking Teen Talent for Paid Short Film "At a Loss"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ADMITTED. Casting two girls ages 14+ who will play roles in production of "At a Loss". More details are below. About the project: Two poor, orphaned siblings struggle to afford the entrance fee for an art competition. Rate: Non-Union. Paid (Low Budget, TBD). Additional information: Filming in February 2025 (Dates TBD) in Toronto. Submissions due by December 22nd, 2024. When applying, please submit your head shot, resume & demo reel (if you have one).

A talented visual artist who loves goth fashion and horror movies, Mia has a sarcastic sense of humor and tons of confidence. Her parents died 4 years ago, leaving her older brother Liam to serve as her sole guardian and caregiver. The siblings have a loving relationship but Mia feels guilty for the pressure Liam is under to financially support both of them.
Mia’s best friend Beatrice is always full of energy and great ideas. Peppy and excitable, she wants to see Mia thrive as an artist and tries to help her achieve her dreams. Beatrice comes from a more stable home than Mia and has a healthy relationship with her parents (who are both still in the picture). Her main interest is fashion and she loves to design her own colorful “pastel goth” outfits.
