Auditions for "The Crucible" for Boys and Girls
Ages 12+ are welcome to audition; there is one role for a very young girl. Please see the details below. Additional info: They will consist of individual readings of monologues (they do not need to be prepared beforehand) and then cold readings of scenes from the play. Crucible Monologues are attached. A local farmer who lives just outside town; Elizabeth Proctor’s husband. A man who hates hypocrisy, but harbors a terrible secret.
Reverend Parris’s niece. Abigail is smart, wily, a good liar, and vindictive when crossed.
A young minister reputed to be an expert on witchcraft.
The minister of Salem’s church. Reverend Parris is a paranoid, power-hungry, yet oddly self-pitying figure.
A wealthy, influential man in Salem. Nurse is well respected by most people in Salem, but he is an enemy of Thomas Putnam and his wife.
The deputy governor of Massachusetts and the presiding judge at the witch trials.
An elderly but feisty farmer in Salem, famous for his tendency to file lawsuits.
A wealthy, influential citizen of Salem, Putnam holds a grudge against Francis Nurse.
