Singing Audition for "Bye, Bye Birdie" Musical

Seeking young performers ages 14 and up for "Bye, Bye Birdie" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When the draft selects rock star Conrad Birdie, his fans are devasted, but no one more than struggling songwriter Albert Peterson, whose song Birdie was just about to record. Albert’s longtime girlfriend Rosie pushes Albert to write a new tune that Birdie will perform on television to a fan selected in a contest. The scheme works, with young Ohio teenager Kim McAfee declared the winner, but no one has counted on the jealous wrath of her boyfriend. Rate: CompensationUp to $1000 total for nonunion professional actors for all rehearsals and performances (not including the possible extension). Stipends available for current BFA/BA/AA students. Out-of-town actors will be considered, but no housing or transportation can be provided. Additional info: Please prepare two 16-32 bar songs in the style of the show and please bring sheet music for the accompanist. In addition, bring a headshot and resume for the creative team. Callbacks will be held on Sunday January 19th, 2025. Dance callbacks will be from 2-4 pm and character callbacks will be from 4-8pm. "Bye, Bye Birdie" is scheduled to open on Friday, July 11, 2025, and to close on Sunday, August 10, 2025. Rehearsals are scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Rehearsals are from 6:30-10 pm on the weekdays and from 12-6 pm on the weekends. There will be one dark day during the week TBD. Shows will be Thursday through Saturday nights at 7:30 pm and Sunday matinees at 2 pm. If interested, please apply.
