Throw into the mix his widowed Aunt Blanche and her two young (but rapidly aging) daughters and you have a recipe for hilarity, served up Simon-style.” Additional info: Possible callback to be held on Wednesday, Dec. 11 at 7:00PM Production Dates: March 6-9 and March 13-16 What to Expect: You will be asked to read from the script for the various roles. Jack and Kate’s son, and Stanley’s brother. In the play, Eugene breaks the 4th wall and welcomes the audience to take a look into his life growing up in a Jewish immigrant family in the 1930s in Brooklyn, NY. He interacts and shares his thoughts directly with the audience. He has dreams of becoming a baseball player or a writer. Eugene is going through puberty and has found himself obsessing about girls, mainly his cousin Nora
Jack and Kate’s son, and Eugene’s brother. Stanley works to help support his family. He has been raised to respect others and to treat people fairly. Stanley is admired and trusted by Eugene. He is the person that Eugene confides in regarding issues and questions surrounding girls. He thinks he is a disappointment to his family when he loses his paycheck after a night of gambling. He decides to leave to join the military.
A sixteen-year-old high school student, Blanche’s daughter, and Laurie’s sister. Nora wants to be a dancer and has studied dance for many years. She becomes very angry when she is told by her uncle that she cannot go on tour with a Broadway musical. Nora resents her mother’s inability to make decisions. She does not feel that she is treated fairly. She misses her father and does not feel loved and supported by her mother.
Blanche’s daughter, and Nora’s sister. Laurie has been diagnosed with a weak heart, so her mother believes she is fragile and keeps her in the house. Eugene believes that Laurie uses her condition to get out of chores. Laurie spends most of her time reading and studying. She has few memories of her father.
