Casting Call for Children for "School House Rock Live" Show
Talents 10-18 year-olds are invited to audition for the "School House Rock Live" Show. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: For the audition, actors should be prepared to: 1. Introduce themselves, giving directors their age, grade, school, and an unusual fact about themselves. They should be able to answer easy questions and have a conversation with the director. 2. Perform a short acapella song (30 seconds) that shows off vocal range and personality. Directors do not want a song from the show, but maybe a song with a similar style. 3. Be able to match pitch. Directors will play a note and they need to be able to sing the same note. First Rehearsal date: Saturday, January 11 Parent Meeting - Saturday, January 11 Tech Week - Saturday, February 22 - Wednesday, February 26 - MANDATORY. The idealistic young teacher and hero of our story. He is nervous about his first day of teaching, yet gradually becomes more at ease as the show continues. Cast a mature young performer who is amiable, likable, and charming. Tom doesn't sing a solo, so casting your best actor is a perfect choice.
A marvelous character role. He takes the lead on "Three Is A Magic Number" and "Just A Bill." Cast a good singer and a great character actor. George in particular is a calming presence and excellent cheerleader for Tom. He is the romantic, and he is caring and in control.

Definitely one cool kid. He's laid back and fun-loving. Cast a Joe who can deliver the great "Conjunction Junction" with the right growl.
Mature, thoughtful, and grounded. Dina is featured in "Unpack Your Adjectives" and takes the lead on "Interjections." Your Dina should be a good, strong singer with an ability to sing harmony.
