Open Voice Acting Casting for "Halia Carries the Water" Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking young talent ages 5-12 for "Halia Carries the Water" film. See the details below. About the project: A 10-minute animated film, using a mix of clay figures and collage stop-motion. A folkloric tale that explores a little girl's place in the unbalanced relationship between her mother and brother, as unnatural forces take hold in their home life. Rate: Non-Union. Volunteer basis; unpaid. Demo reel footage provided upon completion in April-May 2025. Additional informatiion: Shoot/Performance Date(s) Week of January 13th. Backup week of January 20th. Submission deadlne: Friday, December 20, 2024. When applying, please submit resume and demo reel (if applicable; voice-over work preferred). Self-tapes: Selected applicants will be sent a portion of the script once submissions close.

Lead; a young girl who seeks to find the balance between protecting her little brother and caring for her elderly mother. Very cautious much of the time, but becomes much more protective and defiant over the course of the film. Adult actors preferred, but youth actors also encouraged to apply. Ukrainian and Ukrainian-heritage applicants strongly encouraged.
Supporting; Halia’s little brother. Shunned by their mother, he undergoes his slow transformation into a raven, and relies on Halia for protection from both their mother and the cold outdoors. Adult actors preferred, but youth actors also encouraged to apply. Ukrainian and Ukrainian-heritage applicants strongly encouraged.
