About the project: 60-Minute Version A group of disciples help Jesus Christ tell different parables by using a wide variety of games, storytelling techniques, and a hefty dose of comic timing. An eclectic blend of songs, ranging in style from pop to vaudeville, are employed as the story of Jesus' life dances across the stage. Dissolving hauntingly into the Last Supper and the Crucifixion, Jesus' messages of kindness, tolerance and love come vibrantly to life. The original Godspell was the first major musical theatre offering from Stephen Schwartz, composer of Wicked and Pippin, and it took the world by storm. Boasting a score with chart-topping songs like "Day by Day", Godspell JR. is a sensation that continues to touch audiences. Additional info: Please note: there is a production fee applied. Student Tour Productions: These 60-minute shows are performed using minimal sets, costumes, and props to help tell the story. This type of show prepares students to use their storytelling skills in a fuller theatrical experience, while also giving the show flexibility to be shared with local schools and community events. Duration: January 28 - April 18, 2025 Rehearsal Dates/Times: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 4:30 pm-6:30 pm starting January 28, 2025 Performance Dates: April and May at after-school programs, per cast availability. Jesus is a natural-born teacher. Cast a performer who is a good singer and is comfortable taking on a leadership position without being bossy or judgmental.
