Singing Audition for "Shrek" Play Seeks Teens in DC

Singing auditions for the play "Shrek" are seeking teens. Please see the details below. ONLY MD, VA AND LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Can a hot young designer take on the green-washing of a conglomerate? Can a high schooler take on the narrow-mindedness of a school board trying to ban books? 2 daughters struggle to find their way in a world filled with both idealism and cynicism. How will their mom create her own new story as she faces the joys and challenges of an empty nest? This coming-of-age tale features a family of 3 women at different ages and stages of their lives as they discover the forces of nature they are destined to be. Additional info: Prepare 32 bars from two contrasting songs that showcase your vocal range. An accompanist will be provided. Please bring the music in the key you will be singing. You can complete the attached audition form in advance and bring it with you. You may bring a resume and/or headshot to attach. You will be asked to complete a conflict calendar, so please have your conflicts available. Performances February 22-23 and Feb 28, Mar 1-2, 2025. Directors will have a readthrough of the musical on Saturday, December 7 from 1 pm-4 pm. Rehearsals on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 7-10 pm as well as Saturdays from 10 am-1 pm, beginning on January 4. Tech week begins February 16. All voices should be comfortable with a contemporary pop blended sound. If you are interested please apply.
