About the project: In the little village of Anatevka, Tevye, a poor dairyman, tries to instill in his five daughters the traditions of his tight-knit Jewish community in the face of changing social mores and the growing anti-Semitism of Czarist Russia. Rich in historical and ethnic detail, “Fiddler On The Roof” has touched audiences around the world with its humor, warmth, and honesty. It's universal theme of tradition cuts across barriers of race, class, nationality, and religion, leaving audiences crying tears of laughter, joy, and sadness. Rate: All actors will receive a $300 stipend for 12 performances, with an extrta $25 for each additional performance. Additional info: Performances March 14-30 Callbacks Sunday, December 15, 6:00 - 10:00 p.m. PREPARE: 16-21 bars of a musical theatre song in the style of the show. Please bring sheet music as an accompanist will be provided. No recorded music or a capella. Please have the music marked and in a 3-ring binder. Be prepared to sing and read from the script and score at your audition. BRING: Headshot, resume, list of conflicts REHEARSALS: Rehearsals begin Saturday, January 18 Rehearsals will be on Saturday afternoons and Sunday afternoons or evenings.
