Dance Opportunities for Kids in "Seussical" The Musical
Seeking performers ages 12 and up for "Seussical" the Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: Singing: Please have a prepared track that you can sing along with on your phone or other device. Using a song from the show is always encouraged, but songs that are in the same style as “Seussical” are fine as well. One to two minutes in length, please! Dancing: You will be taught a dance at auditions. Directors are looking for your energy and enthusiasm on stage. Please wear appropriate shoes and clothing to dance in. Please indicate any TAP DANCING experience on the AUDITION FORM! Directors are looking for energy, character, enthusiasm...that spark needed for a show as bright and colorful as Seussical. Choose an upbeat song, act it out, and show directors WHY you belong in the world of Dr. Seuss! The Mayor's child is a Who that is always finding trouble. Bright, creative, and inadvertently mischievous. Possesses a wildly expansive imagination and finds solace in friendship with Horton.
Our story's main character, he is a compassionate and gentle elephant. Commonly misunderstood because of his larger size. He is protective and loving of all creatures in the jungle.
Horton's one-feathered-tail bird neighbor. Gertrude is sweet and timid. Though kind and loyal, she is also self-conscious of her shortfalls.
The most beautiful bird in all of the jungle. Oblivious to her self-centered ways, she relies on her talent of manipulation, and intoxicating beauty, to navigate her way through life.
The 'leader' of the jungle. Loud, brassy, and stubbornly set in their ways. A caring parent, but unabashedly sassy and soulful.
