Kid Audition For Singing in "Beauty and the Beast Jr."
Audition for "Beauty and the Beast Jr.". Auditioners must be between the ages of 5-18 at the time of audition. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: There will be no formal callbacks. If the directing team needs to see something more, we will contact you directly. For capacity and safety, the audition pool will be capped at 60 participants. At this time, no roles have been pre-cast. Those who are cast will be contacted via email by December 14th and will need to confirm acceptance of their role within 24 hours. There is no fee to audition. If cast, there will be a participation fee. The first readthrough will be Wednesday, December 18th at 6:30pm. Rehearsals will start in January on Monday and Wednesday evenings (6:30-8:30pm), and some Saturday mornings (10-1pm). Not all cast members will be required at every rehearsal or for the entire time. Please ensure you inform the directing team of ALL potential conflicts prior to auditioning so that we can schedule accordingly. Excessive absences after casting will result in removal from all or part of the show. Parents of any participants younger than 13 are required to remain on site until their child has completed their audition. Out of respect for the focus of the youths auditioning, as well as the directing staff, please make every effort to avoid bringing younger children who are not auditioning. Participants will have a vocal audition, a dance audition, and a scene reading audition. Please let us know in advance if any special accommodations need to be made. Vocal: please prepare in advance a brief (30 to 45 seconds) vocal audition using a song that shows your range (if known) and bring the karaoke track; for first-time auditioners singing something as simple as "Happy Birthday" is perfectly acceptable! Dance: a short dance will be taught on-site, and dance auditions will be performed in small groups. Wear clothes and shoes that are comfortable and safe to move in. Scenes: cold-reading scene cuts will be assigned on-site by the directing team and cannot be made available in advance, however, you may consider practicing characterization in advance if auditioning for a specific role. If interested, please apply.
