Wilkes Barre, PA, United States
ID: 576286Exp: 10/28/2024
Description:

Teens are invited to audition for "It's a Wonderful Life, the Live Radio Play". Please see the details below. About the project: The production depicts a live 1946 radio broadcast of It’s a Wonderful Life, shortened from the Frank Capra film. The cast plays radio actors performing in the studio; hear one performance, as the radio audience did, and see another: the silent interactions among cast members whose relationships are…interesting. Additional info: The script is written for a minimum of 8-12 actors playing 28 roles, most of whom can play characters with a wide range of ages. The cast includes a Foley artist for sound effects and a control room technician. Most roles employ the ‘Standard American’ or “Mid-Atlantic’ accent used in films of the 1940’s. Some characters will feature various other accents. You may prepare a 1-minute monologue from any source. It is not required. You will also read from the script. Those auditioning for male roles will read the “Lost Windows” scene from Mr. Blandings Builds his Dream House (1946); for female roles, from “Myrna Loy Chooses her Paint Scheme.” Both are attached. Callbacks if needed, Tuesday, October 29, 6:00. Performance dates: December 6-15. If interested, please apply.
