About the project: Rock got no reason, rock got no rhyme… You better get me to school on time! Andrew Lloyd Webber’sSchool of Rock – The Musical is a two-hour, two-act show (plus intermission), based on the hit movie. The tuner follows Dewey Finn, a failed, wannabe rock star who decides to earn an extra bit of cash by posing as a substitute teacher at a prestigious prep school. There he turns a class of straight–Pupils into a guitar-shredding, bass-slapping, mind-blowing rock band. But can he get them to the Battle of the Bands without their parents and the school’s headmistress finding out? Andrew Lloyd Webber’s School of Rock – The Musical, with its sensational live kids’ rock band, is a loving testimony to the transforming power of music. May the spirit of rock be with all who pledge allegiance to Lloyd Webber’s newest hit! Additional info: Please be prepared to perform 16-32 bars of a song that showcases your vocal range in the style of the show. Auditioners are welcome to perform musical selections from the "School of Rock". An audition pianist will be provided at auditions. PLEASE BRING SHEET MUSIC WITH YOU. Please note if you are auditioning for the roles of Dewey, Zack, Freddy, Lawrence, or Katie you must be able to play their designated instrument. In addition to your vocal audition, please come prepared to showcase 30 seconds of your instrumental ability at the audition. Directors will have a keyboard, and amp/speaker at auditions. For Dewey/Zack/Katie, you are welcome to bring your own guitar/bass to play in person at auditions or submit a video clip of your guitar/bass playing. The dance/movement call will be on Tuesday, November 19th. Please be sure to note any scheduling conflicts on your audition form. Performances of School of Rock will be from February 12th through February 22nd, 2024. If interested, please apply. Vocal Range: A3-D5 Onstage Guitar Zack is the band’s lead guitarist and also a talented songwriter. He desperately wants to impress his father, who’s usually too busy with work to take an interest in his family.
Vocal Range: A3-D#5 Onstage Bass Distinguished by her talent for the bass, Katie takes to being in the band like a fish to water. Energetic, enthusiastic with a lot of rhythm and attitude. Pop/Rock vocals with the ability to move well.
Vocal Range: A3-G5 New girl Tomika is struggling to fit in at Horace Green. She conquers her shyness to reveal her phenomenal singing ability, and becomes a lead vocalist alongside Dewey in the band.
Vocal Range: A3-D#5 Onstage Piano/Keyboard Awkward and lacking in confidence, Lawrence is hesitant to attempt something “cool”, like joining a band, but he soon turns out to be a fantastic keyboardist.
Vocal Range: A3-D5 Onstage Drums Freddie loves a bit of rowdiness and noise, making him a great drummer. His own father doesn’t see his ability, constantly belittling his son.
Vocal Range: A3-G5 Quiet girls with angelic voices, Marcy and Shonelle are the band’s backup singers and dancers.

Vocal Range: A3-D5 Flamboyant and artistic, Billy has a passionate interest in fashion, even though his father wants him to be a footballer like the other men in his family. He designs the band’s costumes.
Vocal Range: A3-D5 James is tough and reliable, making him a good security guard for the band. Mostly, he keeps an eye out for anyone coming while the band is secretly rehearsing!
