Casting call for boys and girls for the play "Kinky Boots." Please find the details below. ONLY MD, VA & LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Rate: Non-Union/Non-Paid. Additional info: Rehearsals: Monday and Wednesday evenings; Saturday mornings. Auditions and rehearsals at Slayton House in Columbia, MD. Performances March 7 - 27, 2025. Fridays/Saturdays at 8:00 pm. Sundays at 2:00 pm. - Prepare 32 bars of a song, about 30-45 seconds, in the style of Kinky Boots that shows off your vocal and acting talents - you may sing a song from Kinky Boots. - No acapella auditions. Please bring either (a) sheet music in your key, or (b) a recorded instrumental track. A piano accompanist and a Bluetooth speaker will both be available. - Please arrive dressed and ready to learn a brief dance combination. If interested, please apply.

Charlie’s younger self. Lost, quiet, and reflective. Appears in the opening and closing scenes. Vocal range G4-D5.
Lola’s younger self who already knows he’s destined to wear high heels. Appears in the opening and closing scenes. Only male-presenting BIPOC actors will be considered for this role. Vocal range G3-D5.
Tenor, leading man. Privileged, but likable - his father owns the local shoe factory. Handsome and loveable, but there is a temper under the surface. Must have strong, sustainable rock tenor vocals, strong movement, and strong acting. Vocal range C3-B4
The heart of the show, a prize fighter draped in satin. A fiery diva presence with underlying heart and soul, she is ostentatious, over the top, and more real than most. Must have a strong, sustainable tenor voice comfortable with blues, soul, and gospel styles, strong dancing and acting, and great comedic timing. Must be comfortable wearing all types of clothing from full glamour to boxing trunks. Vocal range C3-B4
Charlie’s long-time girlfriend. Sophisticated and stylish, she is a social climber, driven, and uncompromising. She knows what she wants and goes for it. Must have a strong pop belt. Vocal range E3-F#5
Quirky working-class girl who works in the shoe factory and eventually falls for Charlie. Terribly funny and smart, but has bad luck with men. Must have a strong pop belt and wonderful comedic timing. Vocal range Bb3-F#5
Lola’s nemesis. Burly hypermasculine bear of a factory worker, with a menacing physicality. Must have strong acting and good comedic timing. Vocal range A2-F4
Assertive, domineering office manager who will let loose her wild side when allowed. Vocal range Bb3-F#5
Factory worker who has been there longer than most. Lots of life experience with a husband and kids to worry over. Vocal range Bb3-D5
Factory manager trying to keep up traditions. Reserved and tightly wound. Vocal range G#2-D4
Lola’s father. An unforgiving tower of anger. Appears in opening and Act II scenes as Simon Sr.; fills various other ensemble roles throughout the show.
A contemporary of Charlie’s but his opposite. Successful, self-aware, and confident. Must have a strong rock voice; ability to play guitar a plus. Vocal range F#3-F#4
Nicola’s boss. An overtly attractive and successful man.
