Casting child performers for the play "Joe Turner’s Come and Gone." Please find the details below. About the project: Set in a Pittsburgh boarding house in 1911 the ensemble play includes characters who were former slaves and examines the residents experience with racism and discrimination in both the South and North. These characters are in search of their identity. Wilson’s calls it finding “one’s song.” Additional info: Rehearsal start: Sunday, November 10 at 6:30 pm Bring hard copies of your resume and professional headshot. Recommend all actors to be familiar with the script. Auditions will consist of selected monologues and scenes from the play All actors please bring all conflicts. She is Herald Loomis’ daughter, and his lost wife Martha Loomis is her mother. She is friendly and fun-loving girl that obey her father and helps Bertha in the kitchen. (This role will require parental consent)

Reuben ScottMale8-13 y.o.African-American

He is a young boy who lives next door to the boardinghouse. He keeps pigeons and sells them for Bynum. He and Zonia represent the future generation of African-American living in The North. (This role will require parental consent.)
