Casting Teens for Production of "The Commedia Christmas Carol"
Casting teens for the production of "The Commedia Christmas Carol." Please find the details below. About the project: You are invited to audition for one of the oldest forms of theatre from the Renaissance era. Commedia dell'arte players are a troupe of professional actors that preform popular plays using techniques that have survived time like the wearing of masks, exaggerated movement, costumes and props to define their character. The Commedia Christmas Carol presented by the theatre troupe is a unique adaptation of the Charles Dickens classic. Dickens was a fan of Commedia Dell’arte and developed his main character, Scrooge after Pantalone. This presentation is about eight Commedia Dell’arte players that are preforming A Christmas Carol in a small village in 1850 Italy. Additional info: All the actors except the one playing Pantalone, who plays Scrooge, will play multiple roles. If you can play an instrument, so much the better--let me know at your audition. Performances will be held December 13th, 14th, 15th, 20th, 21st, & 22nd. If you are interested please apply.
