About the project: "Next to Normal" is a 2008 American rock musical with book and lyrics by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt. The story centers on a mother who struggles with worsening bipolar disorder and the effects that managing her illness has on her family. This show is recommended for ages 16+ due to profanity and adult themes including child loss, grief, depression, suicide, drug abuse, and ethics in modern psychiatry. Actors may be asked to read one or all sides associated with the character they are auditioning for. SINGING: Street Lamp will provide an accompanist for in-person auditions.
