Seeking Teen Talent for Audition Movie "Green Algue"
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Directors are casting boys and girls ages 14-17 for a short film "Green Algue". More details are below, About the project: Haley, a shy and artistic teenager, is tired of feeling invisible. She decides to read her poetry at the school talent show, but when the night doesn't go well, her one friend and long-time neighbor Noah takes her to their hangout under a bridge by the river. There, she accidentally falls into the water and gets covered in a slimy, green algae. The next day, Haley wakes up to discover splotches of this strange green algae covering her face, neck, and arm. Faced with the reality of having to go to school, she's mortified at the thought of people seeing her. But she's surprised to discover that her new look is just what she needed to get the attention she wanted. But what cost will she pay to keep her new-found popularity. Rate: This is an UNPAID project but it's a great opportunity for teens interested in acting. Additional information: Shooting a PROMO for a short film to help raise funds. It's a Ingh-school teen dramedy about self-acceptance and belonging, popularity, and social media. The shoot will be in November, cast needs to be available for one full day in the Eastem Townships (date TBD) (is films is English, but Frascaphones are welcome to audition!) Haley is artistic and has a deep inner world, expressing herself through poetry. She longs to share whe she is with others, but her shy personality makes her struggle to connect. When she fusally beeaks ont of her casing of invisibility, she gets a taste of the validation and appreciation she longed for, though the effects are short-lived. She mut learn to live authentically, realizing that she had true love and friendship all along, but blind to see it.
Lana is chic and cool everything about her exudes an effortless confidence but beneath the façade that makes her the envy of most girls in school lies a truly vicious personality that reveals a make huking beneath those nianicured nails and carefully lined ryes.
Noah is Haley's long-time neighborhood friend. He is a fautssy book werd who loves Lord of the Rings and playing Dungeons and Dragom or inventing his own stories of lore. He is both a dork and cool in the best of ways, as he doesn't define himself based on the opinions of others. He's the only one who truly knows Haley besides ber family. He watches her transformation from the sides, wishing he could step in and show Haley the way he sees her.
