Dance Opportunities for Teens in "Freaky Friday" Musical

Teens ages 14-18 years old are invited to audition for "Freaky Friday" Musical. Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: When an overworked mother and her teenage daughter magically swap bodies, they have just one day to put things right again. Freaky Friday, a new musical based on the celebrated novel by Mary Rodgers and the hit Disney films, is a heartfelt, comedic, and unexpectedly emotional update on an American classic. By spending a day in each other's shoes, Katherine and Ellie come to appreciate one another's struggles, learn self-acceptance, and realize the immeasurable love and mutual respect that bond a mother and daughter. Additional info: Performers are asked to prepare a song from the provided audition material. Download the link attached to the audition material, please choose one song. They will also be asked to perform readings from the script that we provide. As well as learn a dance combination. If needed, callbacks will take place Monday, October 28th from 7:15-9 pm. Rehearsals will take place mostly on Sunday afternoons and Tuesdays 4-6:30 pm. Please check out our website for a complete rehearsal and tech schedule. Performances will take place Friday, January 31st at 7:00 pm, Saturday, February 1st at 7:00 pm, and Sunday, February 2nd at 3:00 pm. All tech rehearsals and performances will take place at The Theater at Maria Weston Chapman Middle School in Weymouth. Please note that the participation fee will be applied.
