"The Lightning Thief: Percy Jackson Musical" is seeking kids ages 12-18. Please find the details below. About the project: As the half-blood son of a Greek god, Percy Jackson has newly-discovered powers he can't control, a destiny he doesn't want, and a mythology textbook's worth of monsters on his trail. When Zeus's master lightning bolt is stolen and Percy becomes the prime suspect, he has to find and return the bolt to prove his innocence and prevent a war between the gods. But to succeed on his quest, Percy will have to do more than catch the thief. He must travel to the Underworld and back; solve the riddle of the Oracle, which warns him of betrayal by a friend; and come to terms with the father who abandoned him. Additional info: Production Dates: January 24 at 7 pm, January 25 and February 26 at 2 pm. January 30 and January 31 at 7 pm and February 1 and February 2 at 2 pm. (School shows on Wednesday, January 29, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m.) Initial auditions will consist of three parts: a vocal (musical) audition, a dance/movement audition, and acting audition with selections chosen from the script. For the vocal/music auditions: 16-32 bars/1 minute max from the show or similar musical and you will need to bring sheet music or a preferred instrumental music track. No acapella auditions please. For the dance/movement audition: Please be prepared to learn a dance section to music. For the acting audition: You will perform cold readings of selections from the musical.
