Kid Actors Needed for "Kid Detective, A Bildungsroman" Play
Kid actors are needed for the play "Kid Detective: A Bildungsroman." Please find the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. About the project: Penny Pepper is known as a Kid Detective Extraordinaire, from solving mysteries about missing lunch money to finding Mrs. O'Harran's lost schnauzer. But when a serial killer slaughters all the other detectives in town, Penny gets promoted to the actual police force out of necessity. Will she be able to keep dispensing her own junior-sized justice, or will the grim inevitability of death slowly cloud her mind? One thing's for sure- when you're ten and a half years old, it's all downhill from there! Rate: Actor Stipend is $225 Additional info: Rehearsals begin 11/30 (will *not* rehearse ON holidays or holiday-eves, except some nights of Chanukah); Show opens 1/11, runs Fri-Sun til 1/26; Invited auditions will be cold reads of the script, and held the last week of October and/or the first week of November, depending on artist availability. 10 and 3/4 years old. A Kid Detective in the Nancy Drew sense. She will keep going and going and going, even at great personal harm to herself and the others around her. A strong moral compass that she believes will guide her to do the right thing, no matter what.
11 years old. The Sidekick to the Kid Detective. Imagine if Velma Dinkley was a shy and anxious little mouse of a girl. She is emotionally aware and a rational mind, but can get caught in the whirlwind of Penny’s plans.
11 years old. The Resident Bad Boy. His gruff attitude masks a kid haunted by the system. He just wants people to like him.
12 or 13. A down-on-his-luck, well-meaning middle schooler. Happy-go-lucky and in need of help
