Teen Acting Audition in "Childhood’s End" Film
ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Seeking teens ages 17+ for "Childhood’s End" film. More details are below. About the project: Several vignettes from a transitory period in life. Portraying how the myriads of different personalities within us evolve in tandem. Eventually with one triumphing over the others. (The different ‘vignettes’ will be filmed across separate shoots. The first ‘vignette’ will follow both the beginning, and the amicable parting of a relationship.) Rate: Non-Union. Student Film. No monetary compensation. On-set meals provided. Demo reel footage available upon project completion in April. Additional information: Shoot/Performance Date(s) November 15-17; additional shoot December January TBD. Shoot/Performance Location(s) TBD. Improv background an asset. Familiarity or at least willingness to do improv will be needed. Much of the dialogue will be improvised so availability to attend several rehearsals will be necessary. Callbacks will be in-person and hosted at the SFU Goldcorp Centre. A confident, bright but somewhat reclusive teenager who does not suffer from the same anxieties that his peers seem to. Loyal to a small circle of friends that he adventures with. Despite this self-assuredness twinned with strong social skills, he prefers the company of his parents and himself. He particularly enjoys arguing humorously with his dad, though sometimes he crosses the line. He also has trouble sleeping, and frequently spends nights pacing restlessly and aimlessly.
Friendly without compromise, with anxiety that bubbles over into nervous energy and sociability, they are playful and smiley. A spontaneous extrovert who enjoys attention, validation and is deeply afraid of people and their judgments. Sometimes their insecurities show a little too much and they speak before thinking. However, they are kind hearted and always regret and apologize. Often, they regret a little too much, haunted by memories, their solution is always to make new ones.
