Seeking Boys and Girls for "A Christmas Carol" Show

Lincoln, NH, United States
ID: 575638Exp: 10/20/2024
Description:

Calling all youth performers ages 8-16 in the White Mountains and Lakes Region to perform in the professional production of "A Christmas Carol". Please see the details below. ONLY LOCAL TALENT WILL BE ACCEPTED. Additional info: You do not need to prepare anything. When you arrive, directors will have you (and a parent) fill out a form. Please feel free to bring a resume if you have one (not required). During the audition, they will teach music to the group and each performer will need to sing it solo. You will also do “cold readings,” which means directors will give you a page of script and ask you to read for different characters. Performers will be released as directors finish with them. Please note, that directors are only looking for 3 – 5 performers, so not everyone will get cast, however, this is an excellent opportunity to gain important auditioning experience, even if you don’t get cast in the show this year. VERY IMPORTANT: The professional shows are performed by adult performers mostly from NYC. The professional schedule is very different from a community or school show schedule. Will rehearse for only 2 weeks, almost every day, from November 30 to December 12. Local children would only be called to rehearsals when needed, which would not take place during school hours, however, in a professional schedule, we often can’t tell you which days you would be needed and which days you won’t be needed until we start the process and see how far we get each day. So any youth performer auditioning would need to be available when directors need them during those two weeks. Additionally, while public performances are December 13 through 15, there are two student matinees which would require youth performers to miss school. One is on Friday, December 13 at 10:00 AM, the other is Monday, December 16 at 10:00 AM. The General Schedule would look like this: Rehearsal Schedule • Saturday, November 30: Possible rehearsal 12 – 9 PM • Sunday, December 1: Possible rehearsal 12 – 9 PM • Monday, December 2: Possible rehearsal 4 or 5 – 9 PM • Tuesday, December 3: Possible rehearsal 4 or 5 – 9 PM • Wednesday, December 4: DAY OFF • Thursday, December 5: Possible rehearsal 4 or 5 – 9 PM • Friday, December 6: Possible rehearsal 4 or 5 – 9 PM • Saturday, December 7: Possible rehearsal 12 – 9 PM • Sunday, December 8: Possible rehearsal 12 – 9 PM • Monday, December 9: DAY OFF Tech Week (directors will always attempt to get youth performers out earlier when possible) • Tuesday, December 10: Tech Rehearsal 4 or 5 – 10 PM • Wednesday, December 11: Tech Rehearsal 4 or 5 – 10 PM • Thursday, December 12: Final Dress Rehearsal 4 or 5 – 10 PM Show Schedule • Friday, December 13: 10 AM Student Matinee Performance & 7:30 Opening Night Performance • Saturday, December 14: 2 PM Matinee Performance & 7:30 PM Evening Performance • Sunday, December 15: 2 PM Matinee Performance & possible 7:30 Evening performance (if ticket sales demand it) • Monday, December 16: 10 AM Student Matinee Performance If interested, please apply.
